The Hyundai HY3000SEi is probably the most popular model of digital inverter generator in the current Hyundai leisure line-up. Designed for the motorhome, camping or boating applications, the HY3000SEi is not only a powerful unit, but also an extremely convenient and market-defining model also.

Designed as an easy-to-carry suitcase-style generator, the HY3000SEi is as versatile and lightweight as the HY3000Si save for an internal battery housed within the generator which helps to drive the electric and remote starting procedure not found on the ‘Si’ models. Able to produce a maximum of 2.8kW of electricity from its 5.2hp 149cc Hyundai 4-stroke petrol engine, this generator has the capability of being started on a key, and also remotely on a keyfob from a distance of up to 20 metres away.

Using an intuitive auto-choke facility, this model allows the user to start the generator without the need to be physically standing next to it. This means that the generator can be started by the user from inside a boat or motorhome, with the generator situated outside to allow for the proper venting of fumes.

Like the other generators in the digital inverter range, the HY3000SEi makes use of the ‘ECO’ throttle setting; a button which immediately lets the generator drop the engine revsto allow the generator run at a much more economical setting. In ‘ECO’ mode, the generator only outputs as much power as is required, resulting in a much lower rate of fuel consumption. It also works the engine a lot less which in turn helps to expand the life of the unit as a whole and decrease the overall noise level of the generator when in use.
