JetFlow limpet 5A Dosing PCB Controller For Peristaltic And Flow Pumps 110V~60Hz/240V~50Hz

Designed for hydroponics and aquatic dosing, pump and water pump control.

This Kit Includes:

1 x Limpet 5A Dosing PCB
2 x Aspen Standard Peristaltic Pumps
1 x Standard Solenoid Water Inlet 15mm

The JetFlow Limpet 5A is a multi-functional output controller that lets the user control dosing quantities to a given liquid, this can be for PH and TD control. The Limpet has two outputs, one for the control of the main liquid flow to be dosed (via solenoid valve or pump) and the other the dosing component. The outputs are mains voltage so the user can control pumps or solenoid valves to allow optimum controlled dosing. The Limpet works on simple principles, there are two inputs for a low and high liquid level input, i.e float switches and a controller timer which controls a dosing component. The user works out the volume of liquid between their two float switches and then works out the required dosing component amounts required for that volume of liquid. The timer is then set to control the flow of the dosing component based on the flow rate of the dosing pump. Multi use applications include aquatics, farming, hydroponics and industry used as a mains-powered monitor or, by adding a solenoid valve or peristaltic pump.

Example of working out dosing levels:

Volume of liquid requiring dosing (DV): 100 Litres
Dosing Pump Litres/Sec (DP): 1.5 ml/sec
Required dosing per Litre in ml (RD): 1

DV / RD = 100 ml (100 Litres/1) = 100 ml
100ml / DP = 66.6 Seconds

Why Use A Hydroponics Water Chiller in your grow room?

Why use a hydroponics water chiller for my nutrient solution?

Using a water chillier for a hydroponics nutrient solution can be highly beneficial for the rapid and healthy growth of plants. A hydroponics system in most cases uses a circulating pump to circulate the water solution around the system whether DWC, NFT or flood and drain which itself adds heat to the water. Add to that the ambient temperature of the surroundings and indoor lights, water temperature in a indoor growing environment can rise to levels where water oxygen holding levels can be extremely poor. When grown in soil, plants roots are always kept at a steady temperature naturally, but when grown in water the latent heat content makes water a good conductor for heat from the surroundings, hence why water is used as a coolant in automotive, industrial and manufacturing processes.

Plants Roots Require Good Oxygen Levels

Plants roots require a good oxygen flow and water can hold more oxygen at lower temperatures. In most hydroponics systems ideal water temperature needs to be between 22DegC for winter and 24DegC a good winter water temperature. Pathogens like warm water and can soon take hold in warm water conditions. When water is cooled the plant gets all the right signals and a good level of oxygen which ticks a important box.

Water Chiller Versus Air Conditioning

In most indoor grow areas the environment can get hot due to lights and other heat loads. Most growers use a air conditioning unit to try and combat the heat directly at the source. This can cause problems with humidity as a direct cooling process can take a lot of moister out of the area and dry the plants out. Plants thrive in warm humid environments and can take high temperatures and transpire very effectively as long as the roots are cool. When a water chiller is used the ambient temperature and humidity can be significantly higher than the water temperature and the oxygen levels in the water will not be affected by the ambient room temperature.
Important Options When Buying A Hydroponics Water Chiller
It is very important to buy a hydroponics water chiller with a titanium heat exchanger. If your chiller has not got a titanium heat exchanger than contamination between the metal can spoil the nutrient solution. Because many hydroponics nutrient solutions have a high acid or alkaline content this can corrode cheap base metals to the extent that metal peroration and contamination of the water becomes a issue to your background water levels.
Pro's and Cons of a hydroponics water chiller
Pro's
  • A hydroponics water chiller combats heat where it matters
  • Improves oxygen levels in the water
  • Repels pathogens in the root mass of plants
  • Ideal for NFT, F&D, DWC and Aeroponics
  • Many hydroponics water chillers have a air filter which acts as a air cleaner
  • A water chiller does not dry out the room like air conditioning though they can be used together
Con's
  • The heat load from the water chiller has to be extracted from the room
  • Noise levels and vibration from cheap water chillers can be annoying
  • Cheap water chillers don't have a titanium heat exchanger

The Daikin Air Conditioning Ururu Sarara Humidification Unit Ideal air conditioning for growing plants indoors

When growing plants indoors under lights such as HPS or MH bulbs the heat produced from the bulbs can cause the plants to dry out and cause problems. Heat is a major problem in the indoor garden and sometimes fresh air in and extract never is enough to bring the heat down forcing the gardener to get a air conditioning unit to cope with the heat. The major downfall with standard air conditioning is that it dehumidifies the air drying out the plants and causing humidity issues in the indoor garden. The standard for many indoor gardens is the portable air conditioning unit which has a flexible tube coming out of the back which is extracted to the outside and a bucket to collect the moister taken out of the indoor garden. These are basic air conditioning units for cooling but have drawbacks including being noisy and issues with the extract tube.

The Daikin Ururu Sarara Humidification Heat-pump inverter wall mounted split air conditioning unit is the new system that could revolutionise indoor garden cooling and winter heating humidity issues. The Ururu humidification evenly heats and cools the entire room and incorporates both an air conditioner and a humidifier, making ideal heating / cooling possible. The URURU humidification subsystem effectively supplies the 450ml/h of water required to fully humidify an entire large grow room. Unlike a standard humidifier, this indoor unit has no water tank. Thus no need for a water supply and no time-consuming cleaning. This feature also eliminates the worrisome growth of bacteria and other micro-organisms which will also kill passagens that may cause problems in the garden.

All the moisture in the outdoor air available inside with the Ururu humidification as the subsystem uses a special built-in humidification element in the outdoor unit to absorb the moisture present in the outdoor air and send it to the indoor unit. Since moisture is not absorbed from the room’s air, quick and effective humidification is possible even with the drier air of winter.

Humidified air feels warmer, dry air actually makes your room feel cooler. Ururu humidification at moderate levels and a relatively low temperature will probably leave your indoor garden cooler.

URURU humidification: maintains a comfortable humidity level without any separate water supply. With only 209mm height this unit fits into smaller spaces than conventional wall mounted units. SARARA dehumidification: maintains a comfortable and fresh indoor environment by removing moisture from the air without lowering the temperature. Whisper quiet operation: down to 23dBA sound pressure level. Indoor unit silent operation: "silent" button on the remote control lowers the operation sound of the indoor unit by 3dBA.
