The Daikin Air Conditioning Ururu Sarara Humidification Unit Ideal air conditioning for growing plants indoors




When growing plants indoors under lights such as HPS or MH bulbs the heat produced from the bulbs can cause the plants to dry out and cause problems. Heat is a major problem in the indoor garden and sometimes fresh air in and extract never is enough to bring the heat down forcing the gardener to get a air conditioning unit to cope with the heat. The major downfall with standard air conditioning is that it dehumidifies the air drying out the plants and causing humidity issues in the indoor garden. The standard for many indoor gardens is the portable air conditioning unit which has a flexible tube coming out of the back which is extracted to the outside and a bucket to collect the moister taken out of the indoor garden. The Daikin Ururu Sarara Humidification Heat-pump inverter wall mounted split air conditioning unit is the new system that could revolutionise indoor garden cooling and winter heating humidity issues. The Ururu humidification evenly heats and cools the entire room and incorporates both an air conditioner and a humidifier, making ideal heating / cooling possible. The URURU humidification subsystem effectively supplies the 450ml/h of water required to fully humidify an entire large grow room. Unlike a standard humidifier, this indoor unit has no water tank. Thus no need for a water supply and no time-consuming cleaning. This feature also eliminates the worrisome growth of bacteria and other micro-organisms which will also kill passagens that may cause problems in the garden.

Air-conditioner companies are going through a bad sales patch because of the delay in the onset of summer this year. Companies such as Samsung, LG, Panasonic and Carrier face the prospect of selling a lower number of air-conditioners this year at 3.8 million units against the earlier estimate of about 4.5 million units. The room air-conditioner segment had grown 19 per cent in value terms and 13 per cent in volume terms in 2010-11 primarily driven by split ACs.


The missed targets in all probability will eat into revenues and profit margins. While most of these companies fought shy of admitting any impact of the late summer on their sales and margins, LG has revised downward their sales targets.

“Sales of ACs start from March and peak by April. So far, the summer has not hit a high and this is reflected in our compressor business. Generally, 45 per cent of air-conditioners are sold during April-May. Given the fact th­at April is almost over, we are may not grow more than 8 per cent over 2010 sales. Earlier, we were expecting 35 per cent growth in sales,” national sales head of LG Electronics Amitabh Tiwari told Financial Chronicle.

“This season has certainly been bad for AC sales but weather conditions are similar in other Asian markets too. Our management is aw­are of the slowdown in the compressor business,” he said. LG clocked Rs 2,400 crore from AC sale in 2010.

“The overall AC industry is witnessing a drop of 30 per cent in terms of sales,” said head of sales & marketing of Panasonic India, Suresh Ba­ndi. But he is optimistic that a few good summer days are enough to make up for the lost business. He pointed to similar pleasant weather co­nditions in 2006 that led to sluggish sales in the first part of summer, but saw a pick-up in sales subsequently.

Though not many firms were transparent on their sales numbers, they were unanimous about a near-w­ashout this season. “The se­ason has not picked up even though we are nearing end-April,” said director, marketing & strategy, Carrier India, Krishan Sachdev. “But we are still hopeful and it is too early to comment on sales targets. As we operate in both the residential AC segment and institutional sales, we are able to balance our business,” he said.

Samsung too has witnessed a slowdown in AC sales this year. “Sales have not picked up so far due to the weather conditions. Ho­wever, it is too early to decide anything regarding targets,” said the deputy MD of Samsung, Ravinder Zutshi.

Temperatures in April in Punjab, Haryana and most parts of north-west India have been three to five degrees Celsius below normal. However, the heat has picked up in western and eastern India and also over the central India plains in the last few days, IMD bulletin said on Wednesday.

“The heat will pick up by May. The build-up of snow and La Nina have contributed to higher rainfall and a cooler landscape attracting western disturbances. This would wear off and summer would start peaking soon," director general of IMD Ajit Tyagi said.

Reliable air conditioning is the key the to loyal end users

According to Tony Nielsen Product & Marketing Manager at FG Eurofred, it doesn't matter how efficient an air conditioning system is, "if it isn't reliable, all other considerations go out of the window".

"An end user or installer will have many criteria on the agenda when choosing an air con system which will certainly include capital cost; efficiency; aesthetic design; noise levels; physical size, etc. But, if we get right back to basics, the two most important aspects for customer satisfaction are reliability and service," says Nielsen, who argues that these two aspects are the cornerstones on which great supplier/customer relationships are built.

"Reliability is one of the most important selection criteria for specifiers and installers. The last thing they want is to be forever revisiting a job to put right inadequacies in the equipment. They want to be able to install the equipment, commission it - and move on to the next job. They want to fit and forget.

"End-users will have made significant investment in the whole installation and they want to be assured that their new air con system is going to be trouble free for many years to come because it is engineered to be reliable.

"Nowadays the end user is far more knowledgeable and, thanks to the internet, is doing a lot more research before committing to buying anything and that includes heating and ventilation products.

"Installers judge on problems. Just imagine you have a car that keeps breaking down. When you come to replace it you are not going to go with that make again. You will shop around, listen to owners with good experiences of other brands and try something else. It is exactly the same with air conditioning so it is of the utmost importance that as manufacturers we supply products and systems which are 100 per cent reliable and fit for purpose," says Nielsen.

Manufacturers now have to offer more choice than ever before to satisfy consumers' demands: as a result of this trend end users can now choose between floor standing, wall, ceiling or window mounted, ceiling cassette or discreet ducted air conditioning systems as opposed to the old days (not so long ago) when they just took what they were given. Nowadays, engineering is at its highest level of reliability with on-board computer technology enhancing performance output.

"Air conditioning is not a luxury in business these days, it has become a necessity: a unit breaking down can have a catastrophic effect on a business or organisation. More and more offices are suffering from high heat loads generated by IT and telecommunications equipment. Reliable air conditioners can improve working conditions by providing a flow of cool air throughout the space improving working conditions of the staff and safeguarding valuable equipment from overheating. It is yet another example of where reliability is absolutely essential," adds Nielsen.

Specifiers and buyers will be looking for environmentally friendly refrigerant and state-of- the-art inverter technology for superb energy efficient performance. Manufacturers are being kept on their toes, with constant research & development programmes to devise ways to manufacture smaller, quieter, more powerful units with inherent reliability.

"These are very tough trading times for everybody. At the end of the day, the last thing anyone needs is unreliable product: it has to returns very good value for money and be extremely reliable," says Nielsen.

"Reliability goes hand in hand with after-sales support and service. It is important that any national service department is comprised of engineers with in depth experience and extensive knowledge of their product," says Nielsen. "They are there to provide support to installer partners with either advice over the phone or hands-on assistance. The combination of product knowledge and expertise means whatever the circumstances, it will be a fast fix.

"Only by listening and responding to customers' wishes and providing that vital component - reliability - can a manufacturer succeed in the present climate and beyond," says Nielsen.

Lg air conditioning third-generation of energy-efficient air-conditioners called Tropical Multi V for Qatar Market

Doha: LG air conditioners, the world’s No. 1 room air conditioner manufacturer recently introduced the ‘Green Air Conditioners’ by providing the Qatar market with Wall Mounted Split type with environmental friendly refrigerants—another step toward a greener environment.

Last year LG introduced its line of energy-efficient air-conditioners called Tropical Multi V, which has been found to cut power consumption by 70 percent.

The Tropical Multi V system employs a heat recovery process that can operate both cooling and heating simultaneously, using only one outdoor unit and effectively serving both cost and energy efficiency needs.

Unlike conventional, first and second generation air-conditioners, this third-generation air-conditioner is especially suitable for hotels, hospitals and buildings where space-specific heating/cooling control is essential. LG’s VRF air conditioning, is already contributing towards a greener environment as it operates with R407C refrigerant which is environment friendly.
